ANSWER:

APBot is different from other email security tool in one major way, we do not use email content to detect fake emails. Phishing emails are sent from fake senders and we use network data to track and identify fake senders. For example, the sender presses the send button from a location thousands of miles from their past location and using fake server names.

Since we do not rely on email content, APBot uses sender behavior and network profile to detect fake emails.

ANSWER:

APBot is a mailbox addon that is only activated when a user clicks on the check/report/train button.

After installed, APBot does not actively monitor emails in or out. Each email is only analysed by APBot when a user selects a particular email. This is for privacy by design feature and also follow the best practice suggested by Google and Microsoft.

You can uninstall APBot by using the remove addon in GMail or Outlook setting. Please click here for a step by step tutorial.

After APBot is uninstalled, you have the option to delete all data in our system. We will notify you within 5 workdays on the completion of data deletion.

Our tool is downloaded from Google Workplace and Microsoft AppSource. Both companies vetted our software and fulfilling their security requirements.

The data centre is operated by Amazon AWS.
